The Intermediate A Gryphons traveled west along Highway 7 to take part in the 26th annual Kitchener Fallfest tournament and came away with the silver medal.
Fans were treated to some awesome hockey on the weekend. The round robin saw the Gryphs end atop Pool B with wins over Mississauga (2-0) and Saugeen (2-0), and a tie against Peterborough (1-1). The Gryphs then took on St. Kitts in the quarters, coming away with an exciting 2-1 victory in overtime; Saugeen again in the semis, coming away with a dominating 4-0 victory; and Kitchener in the finals, falling just short 0-1 but leaving it all on the ice with an outstanding effort. Alas, you can’t win ‘em all, but dang it was close!
