Novice Program Update

Information below is subject to change as it is based on the current information available to us at the time of this post.

Hockey Canada is implementing Long-term Player Development at the Novice level across Canada. All OWHA sanctioned associations will move to a half-ice program starting in the 2019-2020 season. (full ice games can be played after Jan 15th)

The season will be divided up into 3 sections: Development Phase, Regular Season Phase, and Transition Phase. The season will run from September to March, and there will be no playoffs at the novice level. All tournaments will be played in a jamboree format. Click here for more information on each phase

GGHA will be offering both Local League and Rep programs.

Local League:
Skills seasons will begin in September.
Practices will be on Friday nights.
Games will be played against other local centres - game schedule will be available late September/early October.

Rep:
