Black Bantam HL Girls Win GOLD!!
The GGHA Black Bantam HL team (sponsored by Eramosa Physiotherapy) wins Gold at the annual Flamborough Winterchill Tournament.
The Bantam girls easily made it through to the Semi-Finals on Saturday night after going undefeated in their first three games. The girls tied Burlington 3-3 in game 1 on Friday morning, then beat Midland 3-1 on Friday night. Saturday afternoon saw them tie Oshawa 1-1 and then in the Semi-Final game Saturday night, they downed an undefeated team from St. Thomas 4-2.
The Gold medal match saw them taking on Burlington Red and the game was a nail biter. Guelph scored in the third, and with less than 2 minutes to go on the clock, Burlington pulled their goalie and went 6 strong. They were able to score and at the end of the third, it went into 4 on 4 overtime. Almost right off the face-off, the girls took the puck in for the win with a goal scored by Chloe and assisted by Mady and Amber. It was a great game and the girls have a lot to be proud of. They did a super job representing their city, their parents, and their coaches. Way to go girls!!
