Bronze Medal at Provincials
Congratulations to the 2014/15 Guelph Hyundai Midget A Gryphons for taking the bronze medal at this past weekends Provincial Championships at Vaughan Sports Village.

The Jr Gryphons had a win over Aurora 4-1 and ties against Saugeen-Maitland 2-2 and Nepean (white) 0-0 to win their division after the round robin.

In their first elimination game the Gryphs faced a very tough opponent in Stoney Creek. At the end of regulation nothing was solved and the game moved to sudden death. In thrilling fashion Guelph struck early for a 1-0 win and the arena erupted in cheers. The Gryphs then moved on to the quarters for their third game of the day and faced a strong team from North Bay. Guelph's speed was too much for the Ice Boltz and the Gryphs skated to a 2-0 victory moving them on to Sunday and a spot in the semi final versus Nepean (black).

Guelph and Nepean played a very exciting game exchanging goals through regulation. With the game tied at 1-1 they moved to overtime. Both teams had chances and finally with less than a minute to go in the first overtime the Wildcats scored on the power play to win and send Guelph to the bronze medal game.

The Gryphs had little time to re-group after the tough loss to face another strong Northern team, Timmins Falcons. As they have all year long the Gryphons showed guts and determination and facing their toughest opponent of the tournament beat Timmins 3-1 to claim the Bronze medal at this years Provincial Championships.

Outstanding effort ladies, definitely a season to remember.
