Midget AA Wins Gold!
The Guelph Jr. Gryphons Midget AA team captured the Hamilton Hawks Tournament Championship this past weekend.

The first game of the tournament was a scoreless draw against a very familiar opponent, the Kitchener Lady Rangers.  Rylee Kaufman recorded the shutout.

Guelph found their scoring touch the following game against Ancaster with a 4-1 victory.  Leading the way with 2 goals was captain, Ryley Remedios. Adding a single goal each was Natasha Cheslock and Brooke Di Ciccio.  Assists awarded to Erika Gilbert, Emma Nankivell, Emma Cheeseman, and Louie Bieman.  Goalie, Erin Kerr had a solid performance in the net.

The Gryphons continued their win streak over the host team, Hamilton.  In the 4-1 triumph, Di Ciccio opened up the scoring with assists on the goal going to Cheslock and Banyan Lehman.  Jordann Neumann, Layne Beaver and Gilbert each chipped in with a goal each, while Kat Klassen, Makyla Porter and Bieman collect the assists.

In the their fourth game of the tournament, Guelph would tie the Waterloo Ravens 2-2.  Neumann and Bieman were the goal scorers for Guelph. Assists were awarded to Porter, Cheeseman, and Claire Hyndman.

This would be enough to push the Gryphons through to the Championship game for a rematch against the Ravens.  This was a very spirited battle between both teams. In the end, Guelph would reign victorious in a 2-1 win.  Di Ciccio led the way with a goal and an assist, while Cheslock added a helper. Both Porter and Nankivell tallied an assist each.

Next stop for the Midget AA Jr. Gryphons is Provincials, which runs April 7th- 10th.
