The Midget A Guelph Jr. Gryphons earned silver in the Oakville Harvest Classic Tournament this past weekend.
The girls went 2-1-0 in a round robin, advancing to the quarterfinals. Guelph pressed hard and shutout host team Oakville Hornets in the quarter finals with a score of 3-0. The victories continued as Guelph took on Leaside on Sunday morning in the semi final game and won 3-1.
In the finals the Gryphons faced off against Timmins. In a nail-biter game with 1 minute remaining, the Gryphons trailed 3-2. Guelph pulled the goalie and managed to score with just 7 seconds left on the clock! After a hard-fought overtime, the game went to shootouts. Guelph fell by a single goal and snagged the Silver medal. Congratulations this weekend girls on a stellar start to the year!
