Gryphons Earn Silver at Provincials!
The Guelph Jr. Gryphons Midget A team capped off an exceptional season with a silver medal at the OWHA Provincials.

The girls finished first in their round robin pool with a 2-0-1 record defeating Cambridge (2-0), Sudbury (1-0) and tying Stoney Creek (0-0). The Gryphons advanced to the quarter finals where they won (1-0) in the second overtime after another game winning goal by Brianna Martini assisted by Lorraine Vandermyden.

The semi final game was a rematch against the Windsor Wildcats who the Gryphons had faced the weekend prior for the LLFHL championship weekend. Guelph won the game 3-1 with an outstanding performance by senior Charlotte Crane who scored a hat trick propelling the team into the championship game.

The Gryphons came together one last time to face off against the Ancaster Avalanche. Regulation time ended in a 1-1 draw which forced overtime. With only minutes left in OT, Ancaster capitalized on a rebound leaving Guelph with a silver medal.

This concluded a truly successful season for the Guelph Jr. Gryphons. Accomplishments include: Oakville Tournament Silver Medalists, Guelph Tournament Gold Medalists, Central West Division Champions, LLFHL Champions & Provincial Silver Medalists. The Gryphons posted an outstanding record of 49-8-9.

Congratulations to all the parents, players and coaches for an amazing season of hockey.
Best of luck to our graduating Gryphons Charlotte Crane and Jillian MacEachern.
