Pink in the Rink Proves To Be A Success!
Sunday Oct. 30th was an exciting day at the UoG Gold as the Jr Gryphons Midget AA team hosted the GGHA’s first annual Pink in the Rink game.

The Kitchener Lady Rangers came to town for the first match up between the two teams this season. Guelph got on the board early in the first period with a goal by Brianna Martini, assisted by Gabby Jex and Brooke Davidson. The game remained quiet until midway through the third period when Erika Gilbert capitalized on a lose puck around the Kitchener net minder to put the Gryphons up 2-0. Assisting on the goal was Kyle Bertrand and Emma Nankivell. Guelph would fend off the Lady Rangers after taking several penalties late in the third with, goalie Rylee Kaufman, making a total of 27 saves in the game earning her 5th shutout of the year. With the win, the Gryphons remain in first place in the LLFHL West Division.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who attended the game and to everyone who was able to donate. With Scotia Bank matching donations, the game raised a total of $2048!!

A special thank you to Scotia Bank and to the OHL’s Mississauga Steelheads who donated tickets to one of their season home games as one of our prizes. The Jr. Gryphons Midget AA team would also like to thank all of the volunteers that made the day possible including parents and several players from the Guelph Midget A team!
We'd also like to recognize the Bantam B team for donating an additional $160.

In addition to the $2500 raised earlier in the month from Run for the Cure the Midget AA team makes a grand total donation of $4548 to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Special thank you to the Kitchener Lady Rangers for participating. The first Pink in the Rink proved to be a massive success. We hope to see you next year!
