Midget-Intermediate White Win Gold!
Submitted By Donna Harrington on Thursday, February 4, 2016
Congratulations to our Midget/Intermediate White team on winning Gold at the Cambridge Tournament!

Our Mid/Int girls went 3-0 to get to the championship game against a very good 2-0-1 Sudbury team. This match up would prove to be a game worth admission.

Both teams started off cautiously with Sudbury bulging the twine first. The Guelph girls found themselves down 3-0 halfway into the game. Guelph chipped away, eventually tying the game at 3. A little less then half to go in the third,  Sudbury took a 4-3  lead. The Guelph girls were not done. A time out called with under 2 minutes remaining in the game, Guelph pulled their goalie for the extra attacker and were able to pot one in, tying the game at 4.  With under 30 seconds remaining Sudbury took a penalty creating a power play for Guelph. Unable to decide a winner in regulation , a 3 on 3 format for the OT sudden death period was set including a power play continuation having a 4 on 3. With the overtime underway, the Guelph girls were able to sustain control of the play and with a crowd around the front of the Sudbury goal, Guelph were able to bang one in winning the tournament out right and completing a stellar 4-0 record. This game could not of been scripted any better as the girls played their hearts out from the beginning to the end.

As a coaching staff we are extremely proud of this group for the all out effort, love for the game and their impeccable representation of Guelph. Well done ladies and congratulations.
