2024 GGHA Tryout Information
The Guelph Girls Hockey Association (GGHA) Representative Team Tryouts will take place beginning April 17, 2024 for the 2024-2025 season. click here for tryout schedule
Internal Tryouts:
- Internal tryouts are exclusively for players who were part of the GGHA in the 2023-2024 season and have registered and paid for the 2024-2025 tryouts.
- If you resided in Guelph but played for another center last season, you'll need to wait until the open tryouts commence on April 17th.
Open Tryouts:
- Open tryouts will kick off on April 17th, giving players from other centers the opportunity to participate in GGHA tryouts

Can I join the internal tryouts if I live in Guelph but didn't play hockey last year?
No, internal tryouts are reserved for players who were rostered on a GGHA team last year.
I played ringette last year. Can I attend the internal tryouts to try hockey?
No, internal tryouts are only for players who were rostered on a GGHA team last year.
I'm relocating from Guelph and won't be playing for the GGHA. Can I still attend internal tryouts?
Unfortunately, unless you register for the 2024 tryouts, you won't be eligible to attend.
Can I skip internal tryouts and go directly to open tryouts?
Yes, you can, but I highly recommend attending internal tryouts. It's an opportunity for coaches to assess players as a new group, identify strengths, and identify any areas that may need improvement.
Do I need to register for internal tryouts?
No, internal tryouts are included in the overall tryout package. The only difference is that no import players will be present during these sessions.
What if I can't make it to a tryout (internal or open)?
If you're unable to attend any tryout session, please inform me, and I'll make a note for the coach on the player list for each tryout.

U9
- Cost: Free
- Tryouts begin on April 26th at 6:00 PM at the Exhibition Arena.
U11
- Cost: $60
- Internal tryouts: April 7th at 2:00 PM (Exhibition Arena) and April 15th at 6:00 PM (UofG)
- Open tryouts: April 18th at 6:00 PM (UofG)
U13
- Cost: $80
- Internal tryouts: April 7th at 3:00 PM (Exhibition Arena) and April 15th at 7:00 PM (UofG)
- Open tryouts: April 17th at 7:30 PM (Exhibition Arena)
U15
- Cost: AA Tryouts: $100
- Cost: Bypass AA, and move straight to the A Tryouts: $80
- Internal tryouts: April 9th at 6:30 PM and April 15th at 6:30 PM (UofG)
- Open tryouts: April 17th at 6:00 PM (UofG)
U18
- Cost: AA Tryouts: $100
- Cost: Bypass AA, and move straight to the A Tryouts: $80
- Internal tryouts: April 9th at 7:30 PM and April 15th at 8:00 PM (UofG)
- Open tryouts: April 17th at 9:30 PM (UofG)
