The
Guelph Jr. Gryphons Intermediate A women's hockey team capped a
successful playoff run with a silver medal at the Lower Lakes Female
Hockey League championships on April 2-3.
The Gryphs earned a spot among the leagues top four teams after dropping first round playoff opponent Cambridge in two straight games and second round opponent Kitchener in two straight as well.
They continued their unbeaten streak at the championship tournament and earned a spot in the gold medal game after posting a 1-1 tie with St. Catharines, a 2-1 win over Etobicoke, and a 1-1 tie with Whitby in round robin play.The run ended with a 3-0 loss to St. Catharines in the final, but not without a hard earned silver medal to show for it.
