Team Approval Checklist

All GGHA teams must complete the following steps before being fully approved for the upcoming season. This process ensures that your team is compliant with OWHA and GGHA policies and ready to participate in league and tournament play.

โœ… Required Steps

  1. Ensure all bench staff have completed their certifications (see table below).
  2. Submit your completed Team Staff Contact Form to your division director.
  3. All team staff must submit a valid Vulnerable Sector Check (Police Check).
  4. All staff must complete the Respect in Sport – Activity Leader course.
  5. Trainers must hold a valid HTCP Level 1 (or higher) certificate.
  6. Ensure your RAMP team roster is updated with all staff and on-ice volunteers.
  7. Obtain approval from the GGHA Registrar before engaging in any games or tournaments.

Head Coach
  • U9–U13 Rep (A/AA): Development 1 Certified
  • U15 & U18 A: Development 1 Certified
  • U15 & U18 AA: High Performance 1 Certified (or in progress)
  • Fundamentals, U7–U9: Coach 1
  • U18 House League: Coach 2
  • Respect in Sport – Activity Leader & Valid Police Check, and Gender identity
Assistant Coach Coach 1 or 2 (depending on team level), Respect in Sport – Activity Leader, Police Check and Gender identity
Trainer HTCP Level 1 or higher (current), Respect in Sport – Activity Leader, Police Check and Gender identity
Manager Respect in Sport – Activity Leader, Police Check and Gender identity
On-Ice Helper Respect in Sport – Activity Leader, Police Check and Gender identity, Must be listed on RAMP roster

๐Ÿ“Œ Notes & Additional Info

  • All certifications must be current and recorded with the OWHA and RAMP system.
  • Each team must have a minimum of one certified trainer on the bench at all games and practices.
  • Head Coaches for U15AA and U18AA must have completed or be actively enrolled in the HP1 certification process. Refer to OWHA for deadlines.
