Internal Tryouts
Internal tryouts are open exclusively to players who were part of the GGHA during the 2024-2025 season and have registered and paid for the 2025-2026 tryouts.
These sessions provide coaches with an early opportunity to see players within their new age groups, assess team dynamics, and identify strengths and areas for development before incorporating import players.
Key Details:
- Free of charge – No additional cost for participation.
- No cuts – All registered players will have the chance to attend both sessions.

Can I join the internal tryouts if I live in Guelph but didn’t play hockey last year?
No, internal tryouts are reserved for players who were rostered on a GGHA team during the 2024-2025 season.
I played ringette last year. Can I attend the internal tryouts to try hockey?
No, internal tryouts are only open to players who were rostered on a GGHA team last season.
I'm relocating from Guelph and won’t be playing for GGHA. Can I still attend internal tryouts?
Unfortunately, no. Only players registered for the 2025-2026 tryouts are eligible to participate.
Can I skip internal tryouts and go directly to open tryouts?
Yes, you can. However, we strongly recommend attending internal tryouts as they provide an opportunity for coaches to assess the group, identify strengths, and evaluate areas for development before open tryouts.
Do I need to register for internal tryouts?
Yes. Coaches require a list of participants in advance, so all players must register.
What is the difference between internal tryouts and open tryouts?
