Weekend Hockey Forecast: Thunderstorm in Guelph!
Hockey fans suffering from NHL withdrawal can get their fix at the GGHA 14th Annual Thunderstorm Tournament, which runs Friday to Sunday at six local arenas. There will be more than 1400 girls aged 5 to 17 competing in 12 divisions, representing teams from as far away as Chicago and Sault Ste. Marie, and organizers promise "sizzling" action on the ice. It will be hockey all day, all weekend!
This is the 14th annual tournament that the association has organized since its inception. It is expected that some 4000 players and spectators will fill hotels and restaurants during the tournament weekend.
